Pierce County Roofer’s Apprenticeship Program

Don’t choose between education and career. Earn livable wages as you build your skills, on the job and in the classroom. The Pierce County Roofer’s Apprenticeship Program helps workers succeed by providing higher wages and benefits, equal opportunities, and valuable skills/certificates.

How Does Apprenticeship Work?

  • You earn while you learn the trade. Fees for your classes will come out of your wages.

  • You don’t pay to be an apprentice. An apprentice roofer is an employed worker who learns in the classroom and on the job while making good wages and benefits.

  • The Training Facility is located on Clover Park Technical College’s campus.

  • The geographical jurisdiction covers all of Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Pacific and surrounding areas with headquarters in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington.

  • The Program accepts applications year round, and includes drug screening.

  • As an apprentice, your wages and benefits are secured through collective bargaining with employers.

  • Roofers install a wide range of roofing and waterproofing products and systems. Each roofing job is different, and each job presents new challenges. Roofing is hard. Roofers work outdoors in all kinds of weather, typically working at heights. Learn more about Types of Roofing we teach HERE.

  • Pierce County Roofers Apprenticeship Program works in affiliation with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers. Learn more about Union Roofers HERE.

Think of roofing as a career, not just a job. In roofing, you don’t have to change careers to stay engaged and move ahead. In roofing you will face new challenges, learn new skills, and earn higher wages.
