WAGE RATES FOR ROOFERS & WATERPROOFERS

Effective February 1, 2026, thru January 31, 2027

Encompassing the Counties of Pierce, Lewis, Pacific, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum in the state of Washington.

Wages / fringes paid on certain predetermined wage projects in the jurisdiction of Local 54 &153 may be less

than those listed in this notice.

Working Dues are $0.95 an hour for every hour worked after Initiation is met for all classifications.

FOREMAN WAGE RATES

$55.51 an hour (Base Rate)

Five percent (5%) above the journey wage rate when assigned as foreman to a crew of 3-5 employees not including the foreman.

$58.16 an hour (Base Rate)

Ten percent (10%) above the journey wage rate when assigned as foreman to a crew of six (6) or more employees not including the foreman.

$60.80 an hour (Base Rate)

Any employee with one (1) or more continuous years of service as a foreperson with the Employer shall receive fifteen percent (15%) per hour above the journey wage rate when assigned as a foreperson to a crew.

SERVICE LEAD TECHNICIAN - SENIOR SERVICE LEAD TECHNICIAN

$55.51 an hour (base rate)

Five percent (5%) above the Journeyman wage rate when assigned to a crew of 0-5 employees, not including the service lead technician.

$58.16 an hour (base rate)

Senior Service Lead Technician shall receive Ten percent (10%) above the Journeyman wage rate (unless mutually agreed otherwise) when assigned to a crew of 0-5 employees, not including the Senior Service Lead Technician.

LOCAL 153 & 54 JURISDICTION

Information Regarding Public and Private Pre-Determined Wage Rates at the Time of Bid

PREVAILING WAGE PROJECTS

Per the Local 153 contract between members and signatory contractors, Article 7, Section 7.02.02, Page 9: Prevailing Wage Projects may be subject to published wages (L&I Website) at the time of bid and shall apply for twelve (12) months from the date your employer proceeds with construction. The employer will provide Roofers Local 153 in writing with the start date of the project and the published wages in effect at that time.

PRIVATE PROJECTS

Per the Local 153 contract between members and signatory contractors, Article 7, Section 7.02.02, Page 10: Private Projects may be subject to published wages (L&I Website) at the time of bid and shall apply for six (6) months from the date your employer proceeds with construction. Upon Local 153 request, the employer shall provide Local 153 with a record of applicable private bids thirty (30) days prior to any effective wage increase to have a private project eligible to use published wages at the time of the bid.


This new language in the Local 153 agreement will likely result in different rates of pay being paid on different projects at the same time to Local 153 workers while working within the jurisdiction of Local 153 & 54 The QR code below will take you to a website that will allow you to Look Up Your Wage Once on the site, you will need to do the following:

  • Journeymen and Apprentices will need to select the county where the project is located (for example, Pierce County)

  • Select what trade you are signed up to do (for example, Roofers)

  • Journeymen Roofers will need to choose the effective date at the time of bid to see rates

  • Apprentice Roofers will need to click on “Apprenticeship Wages” to see rates

  • Both Journeymen and Apprentice rates show wages and fringe benefits combined

The Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Signatory Contractors and Local153 of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers AFL-CIO became effective June 1st, 2024, and shall remain in effect until May 31st, 2027. It can be downloaded HERE.
